Online counsellor

Life is a wonderful and interesting journey but sometimes it can be tough. When you find it tough it can be hard to know what to do or who to talk to. The difficulties of family or work relationships can be overwhelming at times. If you have depression or anxiety on top of it life becomes even harder.

Online counselling helps you to see the problems you are facing clearer and what's more to see what lies underneath those problems, and patterns you repeat over and over again. Once you can clearly understand what is happening you can then find your own solution to it that will suit you and work for you.

About me

With 10 years of teaching experience I have always enjoyed helping and educating people. But it was not until I moved to Australia and saw an advertisement for LifeLine Telephone Counselling Volunteers that I understood my true calling. I began volunteering at LifeLine Crisis Service in 2008 and joined their Suicide Prevention Support Service Program the next year. In 2010 I completed Certificate IV in Telephone Counselling. While volunteering I have completed my Diploma of Professional Counselling in 2013. I have started my own practice since then.

While counselling is a self-regulating profession and we do have a registration system through PACFA and ARCAP (the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), the government still treats us as “unregistered” because we are not covered by the mandatory registration requirements of AHPRA.

Good psy is difficult to find, I guess you all know this already by now. I personally wasted quite some money on specialists with wise advises. Believe me, when you are deep down and hurting you cannot just "let your situation go" or "thank and forgive people who hurt you". But I kept trying as my life rolled really to hell. I found Liudmila on a psy site, I liked her face and she was my age. And that was my lucky choice. It is true that the definition of a good psy is very individual. But if you are looking for a specialist who would concentrate on your personal situation, patient, attentive to details, thinking together with you, full of tact - Liudmila matches this high level of demands fully. What is very important (and saves a lot of money in future!) she helps you to work out your individual way of getting out of your situation, so that you are able to handle your problems and to enjoy life in future.

All the period that we worked together to pull me out of my depression I also had the feeling that she really cares and even outside the sessions I could send her a few emails to share my black thoughts when I was really deep down. I am very thankful for that. She is a high level professional, although we spoke little about Freud :-)

During my life I’ve been getting the ideas about psychologists and psychoanalytics from the movies and the books. So I thought it was only those who had too much time on their hands would go and seek the help of the "soul doctors". Or that it could be just a modern trend. I could never imagine what you could possibly talk to a psychologist about let alone how they can help. If your body is suffering then you can see or feel the outcome of your doctor’s treatment, it’s kind of "real". But what if it’s your soul??

But it happened so that few years ago I found myself falling into a psychological abyss. I didn’t realise it straight away. It took me couple of years to figure out something was not quite right with me. Then I spent about a month trying to fight off a thought that I needed to talk to someone professional as I was telling myself: "I am not nuts, so why would I?"

Eventually I gave up and started looking. I found Liudmila on one of the websites and I liked her face. The other reason I picked her was that she lived overseas. It seemed to me that I would consider her being unbiased since Liudmila was not in Russia. I can’t give any rational explanation for it, it was just the way I thought.

I had few sessions with Liudmila. Our conversations affected me tremendously as the result exceeded all my expectations. Liudmila taught me some fairly simple method of coping with panic attacks and I have been using it since. Liudmila helped me to understand what it was that I dragged from my childhood into my adult life, and why things went that way and not the other. I managed to understand that I actually don’t have to fight with this it but rather understand, accept and learn how to live with it. The real eye-opener for me was to realise that this well-known word "depression" is not just a word but a reality. And you may not be able to see obvious reasons for your depression. The cause and the effect of it could be many years apart.

Liudmila is very nice to talk to, she is full of tact and a high-level professional. I am glad I met her not only because it helped me but also because it brushed away all my doubts about "soul doctors". Thank you!
